Real Madrid defender has not been dribbled past once in last 3 World Cup outings

A head-turning statistic highlighting the ongoing excellence of Real Madrid summer signing Marc Cucurella has come to the fore online.

This of course comes fresh off the defender’s latest appearance on the international front.

Spain were back in action on Monday evening, locking horns with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal with a place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on the line.

The aforementioned Cucurella featured from the off in the fixture, from his customary berth at left-back.

And en route to an eventual 1-0 Spanish triumph, the 27-year-old continued to perform at an altogether impressive level.

After notching a pair of assists in La Roja’s Last-32 downing of Austria, Cucurella turned his chief focus back to defensive work against Portugal, playing a key role in his country’s clean sheet.

And such exploits, as alluded to above, have since culminated in a remarkable statistic.

As revealed by journalist Alberto Ortega, Cucurella has not been dribbled past a single time in any of his last three international appearances, against Uruguay, Austria, or Portugal.
