Those in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid are now ‘confident’ in their chances of beating out arch rivals Barcelona to the signature of Manchester United sensation JJ Gabriel. This comes amid a fresh update on the future of the English starlet.
Attacker Gabriel has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in the Spanish media for several weeks now.
After informing current employers Man United of his intention to move on at the earliest opportunity, the 16-year-old was immediately linked with a potential move to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Gabriel is widely considered to be a future star in the making, boasting remarkable technical abilities and flair to match.
And if the latest word doing the rounds in Spain early this week is anything to go by, then a favourite now appears to have emerged in the battle for his services…
As per a report from Real Madrid insider Ramón Álvarez de Mon, citing information from The Athletic:
‘Real Madrid are now confident in being able to finalise the signing of JJ Gabriel. There is confidence both in the work done with the player and in his ability to obtain an Irish or Cypriot passport. It’s not closed yet.’
