La Liga giants Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the future of Manchester City star Rodri.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Rodri is for his part of course fresh off a return to the pitch following a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
Prior to as much, the Spanish international had been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid, in their search for a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos.
And though Rodri’s injury setback did result in Los Blancos easing off, they are continuing to monitor both the form and future of the 29-year-old attentively.
As per a report from AS, Florentino Pérez and co. are fully aware of the fact that Rodri’s terms at The Etihad are due to expire in the summer of 2027.
Should the former Villarreal standout return to his brilliant best this coming season, and not come to an agreement on the terms of a new deal, Real could in turn launch an all-out assault for his signature in 12 months’ time.
