Real Madrid ‘close’ to agreement to sign Bayern Munich star

La Liga giants Real Madrid are close to wrapping up an agreement on the personal terms of a contract with Bayern Munich star Dayot Upamecano.

That’s according to French football insider Santi Aouna, who has this week provided an update on the situation.

Stopper Upamecano has for his part been linked with a move to Spain’s capital for some time now.

This comes with the 27-year-old’s contract terms with the aforementioned Bayern Munich due to expire in the summer of 2026.

On the lookout for reinforcements in the heart of defence ahead of the predicted departures of both David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger, Real Madrid have in turn earmarked Upamecano as a leading target.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then Los Blancos now appear close to landing their man.

As per a report from market expert Santi Aouna:

‘Real Madrid and Dayot Upamecano are close to a verbal agreement. Real Madrid are currently in pole position to sign the French international.’
