Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield standout Federico Valverde.
This comes after the Uruguayan was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
Valverde was for his part in from the off once again on Sunday, as Real Madrid made the trip to Vallecas for a La Liga clash.
Late in the 2nd-half, however, the 27-year-old pulled up with what appeared to be a muscular issue, before limping from the field of play.
Speaking to the media post-match, manager Xabi Alonso was therefore asked for an insight into Valverde’s wellbeing.
And the Spanish tactician went on to explain:
“Fede Valverde was fine. He has a different issue (from the one at Anfield).“
Valverde’s fitness complaint only added to what was something of an evening to forget for Real Madrid all told on Sunday.
Struggling to break down a stout Rayo Vallecano backline, Los Blancos were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
