Leading members of the first-team ranks at Spanish football’s top two clubs combined to devastating effect in the final third once again on Saturday.
The pair in question? Jude Bellingham, and Anthony Gordon.
Midfielder Bellingham and attacker Gordon were both in from the off this evening, as England made the trip to Croatia for a Nations League showdown.
And amid a dominant Three Lions performance to date, the La Liga pair have proven themselves two of the game’s very standout performers.
After Bellingham laid on a goal for Gordon during a meeting with Spain last weekend, the latter returned the favour against Croatia. Picked out at the back post by Bukayo Saka, Gordon did superbly to swivel and drive a low delivery across goal which was subsequently directed home by Bellingham.
Putting club rivalries at Barcelona and Real Madrid to one side, the Clásico pair continue to prove themselves one of England’s most productive duos.
