Real Madrid and Barcelona fail to attend LaLiga TV rights meeting

AS report that Real Madrid and FC Barcelona did not turn up to today’s meeting of LaLiga’s Audiovisual Rights Authority.

It’s the first time since the body was set up that both Barcelona and Madrid haven’t attended one of their meetings. Their absence comes down to a protest of LaLiga’s decision to include the European Superleague being one of the items on the agenda of the meeting.

Representatives of both clubs felt that discussing the Superleague project at today’s meeting was irrelevant. As soon as Madrid and Barcelona received the order of today, an email was sent explaining that they would not be attending the meeting to discuss the Superleague with a body that is not authorised to do so.
