The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have added a new profile to their managerial shortlist ahead of the summer.
Los Blancos are of course widely expected to bring in a new head coach with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.
This comes with Álvaro Arbeloa’s temporary stint in the Bernabéu dugout set to come to a close.
As of yet, the Spanish tactician has not done enough to prove his credentials as a long-term option to Florentino Pérez and co.
A shortlist of potential replacements for Arbeloa has, in turn, long been drawn up.
And as alluded to above, this week, the identity of one such target has been revealed.
As per a report from French football insider Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Real Madrid have set sights on the services of France national team boss Didier Deschamps.
The World Cup-winning manager is primed to depart Les Bleus following this summer’s World Cup.
And Spanish heavyweights Real, it would appear, are giving real consideration to taking advantage of Deschamps’ impending availability.
