Real Madrid academy talent to be handed pre-season chance

A member of the academy ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will be afforded the chance to make an impression on José Mourinho in pre-season this summer.

That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight César Palacios as the player in question.

Palacios, for his part, is a 21-year-old midfielder, who has long been considered one of the standout talents making their way through La Fábrica.

The Spaniard has been crowned the ‘prince’ of Real Madrid’s youth setup, owing to his exploits at academy level.

Such abilities culminated in Palacios being afforded his first-team bow this past season, en route to an eventual haul of six appearances between La Liga and the Champions League.

And next time out, the youngster is eyeing a more prominent role at the Bernabéu.

As per AS, Palacios will be called up to pre-season training by new Real Madrid headmaster José Mourinho. With Dani Ceballos now departed and Nico Paz’s return ruled out this summer, the midfielder is in turn desperate to make his mark.
