A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis will play no part in the club’s return to action this weekend.
As much was confirmed by Manuel Pellegrini in his latest press conference on Friday.
Real Betis are primed to kick their campaign back into gear tomorrow evening, in a crunch showdown with Villarreal.
The matchup comes as an important one in the early running for Champions League football in Spain’s top-flight, with the two sides sitting 4th and 5th in the table as things stand.
Heading into the matchup, Real Betis have long been aware that they would be without the services of midfield standout Isco.
Also set to miss out at La Cerámica, though, is Cédric Bakambu.
Striker Bakambu was for his part the last of Betis’ players called up for international duty to return to base in Seville on Friday.
And drawn on the status of the 34-year-old to face Villarreal, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that Bakambu will not make the trip, instead staying put to work on his fitness ahead of next week’s clash with Genk.
