Real Betis send Borja Iglesias message to Celta Vigo

The brass at Real Betis are ready to stand firm in negotiations with La Liga rivals Celta Vigo, over the terms of a deal for Borja Iglesias.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

Frontman Iglesias for his part spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Celta Vigo.

And the 32-year-old, for the most part, went on to impress. Across 37 total league appearances (24 starts), Iglesias racked up 11 goals, and three assists.

This haul included a hat-trick at newly-crowned champions Barcelona back in April.

Celta Vigo, in turn, have long been tipped to open negotiations with their counterparts at Real Betis, over a permanent deal for Iglesias in the summer.

As alluded to above, though, whilst the former remain hopeful of wearing their Betis counterparts down in negotiations over the weeks and months ahead, the Verdiblancos have altogether different ideas.

As per a report from Marca:

‘At the Benito Villamarín, they are convinced that if Celta doesn’t reach a minimum amount to transfer
‘Panda’, the deal will not go through under any circumstances, maintaining a firm stance.’
