The brass at Real Betis have kicked into gear negotiations with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Getafe, over a deal for a member of the latter’s midfield ranks.
That’s according to COPE, who point towards Mauro Arambarri as the player in the sights of Betis.
Arambarri is for his part fresh off what was an impressive individual campaign on the books of Getafe this past season.
All told, across 35 La Liga appearances from his berth in the middle of the park, the 29-year-old racked up a head-turning 10 goals.
And such exploits, evidently, did not go unappreciated behind the scenes at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
As per a report from COPE, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in midfield following the departure of Johnny Cardoso:
‘Real Betis have initiated contacts for Mauro Arambarri. The green-and-whites are looking for a pivot adapted to La Liga and Pellegrini views the arrival of the Getafe midfielder favourably.’
