Former Real Madrid head coach Manuel Pellegrini is favourite to take over from Rubi, who was sacked as Real Betis coach last week, according to ABC Sevilla.
The Andalusian club have reportedly held talks with the Chilean in recent days, regarding the possibility of taking over as head coach at the Benito Villamarin. Alexis Trujillo is currently caretaker boss for the Primera side, who are sitting in 13th place in the La Liga table.
Pellegrini has a wealth of experience in European football, enjoying successful stints at Villarreal and Malaga in Spain, before moving to the Premier League.
