La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Tuesday confirmed an injury blow in the club’s attacking ranks.
The Betis star primed for an incoming spell on the sidelines? Chimy Ávila.
Frontman Chimy, for his part, marked his return to matchday action over the weekend, after sitting out a one-match suspension prior to the international break, against Rayo Vallecano.
En route to an eventual 3-2 defeat at the hands of Girona on Saturday, the January arrival in Seville was introduced off the bench during the 2nd-half.
Just 20 minutes later, however, Chimy was forced to limp out of proceedings, with what appeared to be a muscular problem.
The Argentine, in turn, was put through a series of medical tests on Tuesday morning, with the results having confirmed a hamstring injury.
As per an official statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms:
‘After the evaluations and tests carried out by the club’s medical staff on our player Chimy Ávila, it is confirmed that he has a proximal myotendinous injury to the left hamstring.
‘The timing of his return to the playing fields is pending evolution.’
