Real Betis announce injury blow

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Wednesday announced a setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Ricardo Rodríguez is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Defender Rodríguez was for his part called up for international duty with Switzerland for the September break.

And the left-back went on to feature from the off in both of his country’s fixtures, World Cup qualifying victories over Kosovo and Slovenia respectively.

As alluded to above, though, along the way, Rodríguez picked up a problem on the fitness front.

After returning to base in Seville this week, the 33-year-old was put through a round of medical tests and scans.

And as confirmed by way of a statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms on Wednesday, as much confirmed a muscular injury for the former AC Milan man:

‘Ricardo Rodríguez has a moderate injury on his right adductor muscle. This has been confirmed by tests carried out today on his return from international break. His return to the squad will depend on the player’s progress.’
