A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano has been left ‘hurt’ by the club’s recent endeavours behind the scenes.
That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Andrei Rațiu as the player in question.
Right-back Rațiu is for his part fresh off a stellar individual campaign in 2024/25, which saw the Romanian international emerge as one of Spanish football’s standout performers in his role.
As much has given rise to widespread interest in his signature across the summer to date.
Not only that, but one unnamed club from England recently went as far as to table a considerable offer for Rațiu’s signature.
The bid in question, however, was rejected.
And as per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto, writing for Marca, this decision has not gone down at all well with the player himself:
‘The Andrei Ratiu case has exploded in Vallecas. Tensions are mounting after the latest offer rejected by the Madrid club’s president, Martín Presa, for the Romanian international. Rayo Vallecano has said ‘no’ to an 18 million euro offer from a Premier League team.’
Presa, it is claimed, is demanding the entirety of Rațiu’s €25 million release clause to sanction a sale.
