Barcelona star Raphinha has on Friday moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.
The player in question? Nico Williams.
Wide-man Nico is for his part of course at the centre of a headline-grabbing transfer saga once more this summer.
After Barcelona failed to land the 22-year-old 12 months ago, they have reignited their pursuit, expected to activate his Athletic Club release clause any day now.
Should Nico ultimately land in Catalunya’s capital, one of those who will see his competition for a starting berth mount is the aforementioned Raphinha.
Speaking to the media on Friday, the subject of as much was, in turn, put to the former Leeds United man himself.
And Raphinha, in quotes relaid by Diario Sport, made use of the opportunity to heap praise on his potential new teammate:
“It is no coincidence that he is being considered to play with us at Barcelona and that he plays in the senior Spanish national team. He is a player of the highest quality. He has a lot of level, a lot of quality.”
