Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé has today provided an insight into which of his former teammates at Barcelona he remains in contact with.
Wide-man Dembélé, of course, secured a departure from Barcelona last summer, after coming to the decision to return to his home country, with PSG.
The 26-year-old’s exit culminated in a heavy backlash across sections of the Barca fanbase, who felt as though Dembélé had left their side high and dry, after they stuck by him throughout an up and down stint in Catalunya, which was heavily affected by injury problems.
Evidently, though, the Blaugrana’s stars, or at least some of them, do not hold any such grudge.
Barca and PSG are of course primed to lock horns this coming Wednesday, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Speaking in an interview with UEFA’s official website (as cited by Diario Sport) earlier today, Dembélé, in turn, was asked whether he maintains a relationship with any of his former teammates in Xavi’s squad.
And, alongside the obvious Jules Koundé, owing to their respective places in Didier Deschamps’ France setup, the attacker revealed that he recently made contact with Gavi, with the pair having remained in regular communication throughout the campaign:
“I saw Jules Koundé in the France national team and there was some banter, as always. But it will be a great game. I also got in touch with Gavi, although he is injured. We often talk to each other before games.”
