Scouts from French giants Paris Saint-Germain were in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Napoli on Tuesday night.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have confirmed that PSG are continuing to keep a close eye on the progress of Barca’s latest pair of breakthrough talents.
The players in question? Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí.
Both wide-man Lamine, and defender Cubarsí, were of course afforded starts two nights ago, when their side went head-to-head with the aforementioned Napoli in the Champions League’s round-of-16.
And both went on to enjoy impressive outings, with the latter’s brilliance at the heart of the Barcelona backline having proven enough to earn him Man of the Match honours.
Safe to say, then, that Lamine and Cubarsí will have done their respective reputations no harm.
And likely to have had their standing interest in the young pair piqued ever further as a result, are the aforementioned PSG.
The board at the Parc des Princes are ready to make a splash on the transfer market this summer, amid the flood of funds set to be freed up by the impending departure of talisman Kylian Mbappé.
And Lamine has been one target touted in the media, as a potential replacement for Mbappé in Paris.
Some outlets have even gone as far as to claim that the Ligue 1 champions have already seen a mammoth €200 million offer for his signature knocked back by Barcelona.
With Cubarsí widely considered to boast the talent required to develop into European football’s next great defender, he, too, has in turn made his way onto PSG’s radar.
The Barca faithful, however, need not fret. Though their side will likely require a big-money sale with a view to next season, the departures of either Lamine or Cubarsí have already been all but ruled out by the Camp Nou hierarchy.
