PSG chief confirms ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappé

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has this evening spoken out over the future of star attacker Kylian Mbappé.

This, of course, comes amid fresh speculation pointing towards an imminent Parc des Princes exit for the France international.

Mbappé’s current terms in Paris are due to come to an end in the summer, with the 25-year-old, to this point, having done little to suggest that he intends to commit to a new deal.

He is, as a result, free to open negotiations with clubs from across the continent, over a potential summer transfer.

After missing out on Mbappé’s signature in agonising fashion back in 2022, Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid have since reestablished themselves as the favourites for his services, readying one final push to bring the World Cup winner to La Liga.

Speaking to the media this evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his talisman’s future was put to the aforementioned Nasser Al-Khelaifi once more.

The PSG chief, though, appeared to hint that Mbappé could yet stay put, owing to a behind-closed-doors agreement in place between the pair:

“I have a gentleman’s agreement with Kylian Mbappé,” Al-Khelaifi explained to RMC Sport, as cited by Fabrizio Romano. “It’s between Kylian and me so I won’t comment about money or details. I have a very good relationship with him. But this agreement is between us and it will stay between us”
