Pressure mounts on under-fire Real Betis coach Rubi

Real Betis let a 2-1 lead slip at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Monday night as Granada came from behind to steal a point. Granada striker Roberto Soldado buried a 91st-minute strike into the bottom corner to give the away side a point on the road in the Andalusian derby.

One point from six since the return of La Liga action has added pressure to already under-fire coach Rubi, whose position at the helm has been questioned throughout the season. The former Espanyol coach admitted his side should’ve held on to take all three points.

I think we dominated the game throughout. We had to try and hold on for the result but we weren’t able to defend the corner and Soldado got his shot in and scored. I think we deserved to win today.”
