A former member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was quick to console his no doubt crestfallen ex-teammates, on Sunday night.
This, of course, comes after Spain were put to the sword in devastating fashion in the finale of the Nations League.
Luis de la Fuente’s troops made the trip to Munich yesterday evening, for a showpiece meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
And when all was said and done, it was the latter who emerged on the right side of the result.
This came after the two sides could not be separated through 120 minutes, before Portugal held their nerve from 12 yards to secure a penalty shootout victory.
Post-match, Spain’s stars, in turn, were left looking nothing short of crestfallen.
This group included several leading members of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad, in Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí, and Fermín López.
Amidst Portugal’s celebrations at the Allianz Arena, João Félix was therefore sure to check on in his ex-teammates at the Camp Nou.
As showcased below, after spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan in Barca colours, Félix consoled the likes of Cubarsí and Gavi on Sunday night:
