A massive crowd turned out at the home ground of La Liga outfit Elche on Thursday morning.
This came with a view to catching a glimpse of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi in training with his native Argentina.
Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina are currently enjoying a training base in Spain, ahead of an upcoming friendly meeting with Angola.
Messi was for his part included in the Albiceleste’s squad, expected to feature in some capacity on Friday evening.
And as alluded to above, local fans in the Alicante region took full advantage of the chance to watch the world champions, and specifically Barcelona’s greatest ever player, put through their paces.
As showcased in the photos below, a massive crowd filled the stands at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero earlier today.
The understanding is that, at its height, this crowd featured around 25,000 spectators, many of whom carried signs, flags and scarves to show their support for Leo Messi and his compatriots:
