Members of the fanbase at La Liga giants Real Madrid made use of the opportunity to pay tribute to a former member of the club’s first-team ranks during their latest outing on Wednesday.
The player in question? Lucas Vázquez.
Versatile full-back Vázquez of course brought a close to his career-long stint on the books of Real Madrid over the summer.
After the call was made not to renew the Spaniard’s contract, he was allowed to depart on a free transfer following the Club World Cup.
Vázquez has since gone on to link up with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
Though singled out for frequent criticism over the latter years of his time at the Santiago Bernabéu, Vázquez remains a widely beloved figure amongst those of a Real Madrid persuasion.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, sections of the Blancos fanbase moved to reiterate as much once more.
