Premier League giants Manchester City are set to rival Barcelona in the hunt for the signing of Said El Mala.
This comes amid the understanding that the German has done enough to turn the head of Sky Blues headmaster Pep Guardiola.
El Mala, for his part, has emerged as a prominent name in the European media headlines over recent weeks.
This comes with the young winger enjoying a stellar stretch of form on the books of Cologne.
Barcelona, for one, are understood to be keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old, who has notched four goals and an assist across the Bundesliga season to date.
As alluded to above, though, the Blaugrana could be forced to beat out one of the continent’s most financially powerful clubs if they hope to bring El Mala to Catalunya.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Sky Germany:
‘Said El Mala has managed to impress Pep Guardiola, who would be following him closely.’
Man City have sent scouts to watch the attacker in action on a number of occasions of late, giving rise to glowing reports.
