Pedri: “I hope to be at Barcelona for a long time.”

Speaking in an interview with Onda Cero, Spain and Barcelona midfielder Pedri answered several personal and professional questions.

On his future at Barcelona (Current Barça deal runs until 2022)

“I feel very valued and grateful to Barça, I hope to be at the club for a long time. Koeman, Xavi, Luis Enrique are coaches who like to have the ball so they suit Barcelona very well.”

On penalty shootout vs Switzerland

“I would have taken a penalty against Switzerland had they let me. Which one? The one that nobody else wanted.”

Olympic Games

“Luis de la Fuente spoke to me before announcing his squad for the Olympics. I love playing football, I’m thrilled to be able to continue playing, although I also understand Barcelona because I’ve played a lot of games. But I’ve told Barça that I’m going to return rested.”

On Messi’s future

“I hope he stays but it is his decision.”

What would you have been if you didn’t become a footballer?

“If I hadn’t been a footballer, I would have liked to be a fireman!”
