An update on the ongoing discussions between La Liga outfit Getafe and striker Patrick Bamford over a joining of forces for the season ahead has on Sunday been provided.
The info comes courtesy of market insider Matteo Moretto, and confirms that the transfer has over recent days slowed down somewhat.
The name of frontman Bamford has of course emerged as a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines of late.
This comes after surprise reports were forthcoming, confirming that the aforementioned Getafe had kicked into gear talks with the Englishman and his camp.
Bamford is for his part a free agent at present, after departing Leeds United upon the expiration of his contract at the end of last season.
As alluded to above, though, talks with Getafe no longer appear certain to bear fruit.
As per journalist Matteo Moretto:
‘The possibility of Patrick Bamford signing for Getafe remains on the table. Negotiations have slowed down in recent days because Getafe has taken its time to decide whether to close the deal or not, but in the coming days the final decision will be made.’
