A concerning update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Gavi has come to the fore online.
This comes amid confirmation that concern is beginning to mount behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, regarding the extent of the midfielder’s latest injury setback.
Gavi for his part set alarm bells sounding at the Ciutat Esportiva on Friday.
As much came upon the youngster pulling up with a sudden fitness concern, before limping out of training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Initial medical checks, in turn, have already been carried out.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the results of as much appear to have been far from encouraging…
As per a report from Catalan outlet Esport3:
‘The midfielder has injured his right knee, the same one where he suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament that kept him out for a year.
‘Tests have been carried out and it has been confirmed that the injury is more serious than it first appeared.’
Gavi has already been ruled out of Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, with a further update on the situation expected over the coming days.
