Out-of-favour Real Madrid star ‘confident he’ll secure a starting spot’ this season

Real Madrid star Ferland Mendy remains confident in his chances of wrestling back a place in the club’s starting XI this coming season.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Mendy’s name has of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media chatter in Spain’s capital across the summer to date.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that, in the case of a reasonable offer being received, Real Madrid would be willing to sanction the Frenchman’s exit.

Los Blancos have added to their ranks at left-back this summer, courtesy of a big-money deal for Álvaro Carreras.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Spain on Wednesday is anything to go by, then Mendy for his part has no intention of heading anywhere this summer.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Carreras’ arrival after the Club World Cup has fueled rumors about the player’s future, but Mendy remains calm and confident he’ll secure the spot once he’s recovered.’
