Former Barcelona star Ousmane Dembélé this week pointed towards a one-time teammate at the Camp Nou, when drawn on the subject of his favourite player ever.
Wide-man Dembélé is of course fresh off something of a coming of age this past season.
Finally fulfilling the evident potential which he always possessed, the France international played a leading role en route to Paris Saint-Germain securing a historic treble, including a first-ever Champions League triumph.
Prior to as much, though, Dembélé spent what was considered a largely underwhelming stint on the books of the aforementioned Barcelona.
Constant fitness problems alongside an inability to convert in the final third culminated in the 28-year-old being singled out for altogether regular criticism.
Evidently, though, Dembélé retains at least some positive memories of his time in Catalunya’s capital.
Speaking during an interview with the France national team’s social media team this week, the explosive wide-man was asked to name his favourite player of all-time.
And Dembélé, in quotes relaid by ‘All About Argentina’ on ‘X’, did not hesitate in responding:
‘Lionel Messi’
