“Our fans deserve a win at the Sánchez Pizjuán” – Sevilla coach García Pimienta on his side’s poor form at home

It’s been an up-and-down few months for Sevilla recently. On the upside they are unbeaten in their last four games and are comfortable in mid-table, safe from the danger at the bottom of the table which looked a threat earlier in the season.

However, things aren’t quite perfect for the Andalucian club. Sevilla haven’t had a win at home since the 14th of December, when they beat Celta Vigo 1-0 in fron of their own fans.

Since then, the club has contested three wins, five draws and three losses in all competitions, a far cry from their success just a few seasons ago, when they were mainstays in Europe in the Champions League and Europa League.

The club’s coach García Pimienta understands the situation his club finds themselves in, and discussed as much in his press conference ahead of his side’s match against Athletic Club.

Athletic Club is a Spanish giant and they’re doing very well. They have enough squad to make two teams, and the demands will be high.” The coach said as per Mundo Deportivo.

Following on from his side’s win against Real Sociedad last weekend, García Pimienta believes his side are ready to take a step forward. We’ll have to wait until Saturday afternoon to see if they can manage it.
