The brass at La Liga outfit Osasuna have initiated contacts with the entourage of an experienced Spanish defender.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards César Azpilicueta as the player in question.
Versatile full-back Azpilicueta is for his part currently on the market as a free agent.
This comes after Atlético Madrid, with whom he spent the last two seasons, opted against offering the 35-year-old a renewal to his expiring contract terms.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media early this week is anything to go by, then ‘Azpi’ may not remain without a club for long…
As per a report from the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:
‘César Azpilicueta is one of the options for Osasuna’s defense. Contacts have already been made between the parties. The former Atlético de Madrid player, currently a free agent, is one of the profiles being considered among a shortlist of names.’
