Almost the entirety of Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad were in attendance on Friday, as teammate Kylian Mbappé was the recipient of a highly-coveted individual award.
The prize in question came in the form of the European Golden Boot, secured by the Frenchman for his efforts across his debut season in Spain’s capital.
Mbappé racked up a hefty 31 La Liga goals in 2024/25, enough to clinch not only the Pichichi award as Spanish football’s top scorer, but also the Golden Boot as the standout goal-getter in Europe.
On Friday, the former PSG man was in turn handed his trophy in Madrid.
Mbappé’s teammates turned up in numbers to show their support for the 26-year-old, who has carried his stellar run of form in front of goal into the new campaign, too.
In fact, as revealed by journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascual, in attendance at the ceremony, only one Blancos star was absent on Friday afternoon.
Fresh off undergoing surgery for a knee injury in midweek, Dani Carvajal was forced to send his best wishes to Mbappé from home.
