On-loan Barcelona star tested in a new position

A member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona saw his talents tested in something of an unfamiliar role this past weekend.

The player in question? Ansu Fati.

Attacker Ansu was for his part in from the off on Saturday, as AS Monaco kicked their campaign back into gear in a Ligue 1 meeting with Angers.

When all was said and done on a disappointing day’s work for the Monegasques, they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Ansu, meanwhile, featured from the off in the fixture, rewarded for a fine recent spell of individual form.

Not only that, but the 22-year-old was utilised in a central role.

Accustomed to playing out wide, Ansu was instead shifted into an attacking midfield spot by new manager Sébastien Pocognoli.

The Spaniard showcased flashes of his potential in the role, but found it tough to make any real impact amid a lacklustre all-round showing on the part of Monaco.
