On-loan Barcelona star makes it 4 goals in his last 3 games

A member of the loan army at La Liga champions Barcelona on Saturday continued his long-awaited return to form.

The player in question? Ansu Fati.

Wide-man Ansu was of course allowed to depart Catalunya’s capital on loan earlier this summer.

After a difficult season under the watch of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, the Spaniard linked up with AS Monaco for the season ahead.

The hope was that Ansu would make use of his move to France to rediscover his brilliant best, in the process convincing the brass at the Stade Louis II to splash out on his signature.

And after a hugely underwhelming start, over recent days, the 22-year-old has suddenly burst into life.

First, Ansu was responsible for a Monaco consolation goal in a Champions League defeat at the hands of Club Brugge.

Then, last weekend, the attacker was at the double, in a game-changing performance against Metz.

And as alluded to above, on Saturday, Ansu was back on target once more.

Making it four goals in his last three appearances, the on-loan Barcelona man again netted his side’s only goal, en route to a 3-1 Ligue 1 defeat at Lorient.

Encouraging signs for club and player alike…
