Official | Xavi signs new deal with Barcelona

Xavi signed a new contract with Barcelona this afternoon that ties him to the La Liga club until 30 June 2025, as reported by MD.

There will be an option for a further year depending on how the next couple of seasons go for the reigning Spanish champions.

The Catalan head coach, whose previous deal expired in June 2024, went to president Joan Laporta’s office this afternoon to put pen to paper and sign the new deal. Vice-president Rafa Yuste and director of football Deco were also in attendance.

The agreement to extend his stay at the club was reached several days ago.

Speaking in Friday’s press conference, Xavi said: “We arrived in very testing circumstances. When we look back on that, and what we have now, you get the feeling that we are better off. We are still turning the corner, but this is a process of construction.

“I feel supported by the president, especially in the bad times. The staff has also grown, the players are enjoying it. It’s a good moment, but you have to have humility because that can turn at any moment.”
