Villarreal have signed right-back Serge Aurier on a free transfer.
The former Tottenham player joins for one season, with the option to extend for two more.
After passing his medical and signing his contract with Villarreal, Aurier will join the Ivory Coast national team on international duty. His national team have called him up to play in two qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup against Malawi on 8 October and 11 October.
The defender will join the La Liga side after the international break and will be officially presented as a new player on his return to Spain.
