Two headline members of the first-team ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona have not been called up for the club’s latest outing.
The pair in question? Ronald Araújo, and Frenkie de Jong.
Hansi Flick’s Barca are of course primed to return to action in short order.
Fresh off an alarming 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek, the Blaugrana have turned focus back towards matters on the domestic front.
This comes ahead of a La Liga clash with Deportivo Alavés at the Spotify Camp Nou.
As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards a return to winning ways, the evening’s hosts will be forced to make do without the contributions of both Ronald Araújo and Frenkie de Jong.
In the case of the former, as much comes owing to a bout of illness, though the reasoning behind the latter’s matchday absence is more unclear.
