Official | Sevilla announce García Pimienta as their new manager

Sevilla FC have wasted no time in announcing their new manager following the departure of Quique Sánchez Flores.

The man in question is Francisco Javier García Pimienta, who most recently managed UD Las Palmas, before announcing his departure at the end of last season.

He had been manager at Las Palmas since 2022, managing to bring the club up from the second tier and cement their position in La Liga.

Prior to his stint at the Gran Canarian club, he spent 28 years working within Barcelona’s La Masia academy, managing a variety of teams at a variety of levels.

As a player, García Pimienta had a fairly unremarkable career, playing in Barcelona’s youth/reserve system alongside a couple of other Catalan clubs.

With his next stint at Sevilla FC, García Pimienta will be looking to bring his experience of working on a tight budget to Sevilla, who face a similar level of financial issues, and will have to make their budget stretch as far as possible should they hope to make a resurgence to where they were a few seasons ago.
