Rodrigo de Paul has joined Atlético Madrid from Udinese for €35 million, the LaLiga club confirmed on Monday.
The Argentina international has signed until June 2026 and spoke after completing his move to Los Colchoneros.
“I’m very happy. I’m joining the LaLiga champions and I’m conscious of the responsibility it carries. It is a big step in my football career and just after winning the Copa América. I know Atlético Madrid very well, without counting all the friends and colleagues I have playing in Spain.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity of working under Simeone. Firstly, because of the kind of football manager he is, one of the all-time greats. I love football, it’s part of my daily life, and having a manager of Simeone’s high-caliber guiding one is a privilege. It fills me with pride, I will enjoy working under him because I have grown up watching him play with Argentina’s national team.”
