La Liga outfit Real Oviedo have on Wednesday announced an altogether significant contract renewal in the club’s first-team ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on fresh terms in Asturias? Aarón Escandell.
Goalkeeper Aaron is for his part fresh off what has been a stellar opening to the new campaign.
Amid Oviedo’s ongoing efforts to reestablish themselves as a top-flight regular in Spain, the 30-year-old has featured from the off in all seven of the club’s La Liga fixtures.
And along the way, Aaron has been responsible for a whole host of top-class saves.
So impressive was the shot-stopper en route to a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad, in fact, that he was subsequently rewarded with the Man of the Match award.
Safe to say, then, that all of an Oviedo persuasion will no doubt be delighted with the latest news stemming from the club’s base.
This comes amid confirmation that Aaron has extended his contract at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere by a further 12 months, through the summer of 2027.
