Official: Real Madrid star left out of national team squad list

Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono has not been called up by Argentina for the country’s upcoming clash with Angola.

This comes as the midfielder/attacker works towards his return from a recent injury setback.

Mastantuono was for his part condemned to a spell on the sidelines earlier this week.

After he played the full 90 minutes in Real Madrid’s 4-0 drubbing of Valencia, Los Blancos announced that the club’s summer signing is suffering with a case of pubalgia.

Mastantuono, in turn, was forced to sit out his side’s Champions League defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Tuesday night.

And as alluded to above, the 18-year-old will also play no part in his country’s next fixture.

Argentina announced their latest senior squad on Thursday, with Mastantuono having been left out by Albiceleste boss Lionel Scaloni.

The reigning world champions are set to continue their preparations for next summer’s World Cup in a friendly meeting with Angola on Friday, November 14th.
