Official: Real Madrid name starting XI to face Barcelona

La Liga leaders Real Madrid have unveiled the club’s starting line-up to face arch rivals Barcelona on Sunday evening.

And it features a couple of alterations from the XI which bested Juventus in the Champions League in midweek.

One such change comes at the back, where Dean Huijsen has been chosen to step back into the heart of Xabi Alonso’s defence, despite Raúl Asencio’s fine showing on Wednesday.

And the other comes further forward, where Brahim Díaz drops out, for the introduction of Eduardo Camavinga.

As much is expected to see Arda Güler entrusted with a more attack-minded role.

Federico Valverde, meanwhile, continues in his berth at right-back.

Real Madrid head into the season’s first edition of El Clásico sitting pretty atop the Spanish top-flight table.

In the case of putting Barcelona to the sword over the hours ahead, Los Blancos will in turn extend their advantage over Hansi Flick’s troops to a considerable five points.
