La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday learned the identity of the club’s opponents for their League Phase campaign in this season’s edition of the Champions League.
And the fixture list confirms upcoming meetings for Blancos boss José Mourinho with not one, but two of his former employers.
Both come from Italy’s top-flight, in the form of Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan, and AS Roma. The former clash will take place in Spain’s capital, whilst the latter has been pencilled in for the Stadio Olimpico.
Elsewhere, Real will be forced to test their talents against one of last season’s two tournament finalists, namely Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, with the likes of PSV Eindhoven and AEK Athens also on the agenda for Los Merengues.
