Official: Real Madrid announce sudden injury blow

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week announced a fresh setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation of key defender Dean Huijsen picking up an injury.

Stopper Huijsen is for his part fresh off linking up with the Spanish national team, for an upcoming pair of fixtures against Georgia and Bulgaria.

As much comes with the 20-year-old having enjoyed a stellar start to life in the colours of Real Madrid, following his summer arrival from Bournemouth.

In turn, it will come as a blow for club, country and player alike to learn of Huijsen having suffered an injury setback.

As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms on Wednesday:

‘Following tests carried out on our player, Dean Huijsen, today and assessed by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg. Further updates will follow.’

Huijsen follows the likes of Lamine Yamal and Rodri in dropping out of Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad for the October break.
