Official: Real Madrid announce latest player sale

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week announced a fresh permanent departure from the club’s attacking ranks.

The Blancos star to have moved on? Álvaro Rodríguez.

Youngster Álvaro for his part spent this past season out on loan away from the Santiago Bernabéu.

After linking up with fellow La Liga outfit Getafe for the duration of the campaign, the 21-year-old went on to rack up 22 appearances, chipping in with a pair of goals along the way.

Such production always made it unlikely that Álvaro would carve out a place for himself back in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad this coming season.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of the striker this week moving on on a permanent basis.

As confirmed in a statement across Los Blancos’ website and social media platforms:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and Elche C. F. have reached an agreement for the transfer of our player Álvaro Rodríguez.

‘Our club thanks him for his work, commitment and dedication during his time at Real Madrid, and wishes he and all his family the very best in this new chapter of his life.’
