La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday announced an injury setback in the club’s first-team setup.
This comes amid confirmation that Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for an incoming spell on the treatment table.
Defender Alexander-Arnold of course set alarm bells sounding in Spain’s capital yesterday evening.
Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club, the Englishman was forced to limp out of proceedings early in the 2nd-half.
This came owing to what appeared to be a muscular concern.
Alexander-Arnold, in turn, was put through a round of medical scans and tests back at Valdebebas on Thursday afternoon.
And the results of as much have since been revealed.
As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms:
‘Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player, Trent Alexander-Arnold, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the rectus anterior quadriceps in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.’
