Official: Real Madrid announce 3rd summer signing

La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid have on Thursday made official the club’s third high-profile signing of the summer.

The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms in Spain’s capital? Ibrahima Konaté.

Those in the boardroom at the Santiago Bernabéu have of course been hard at work over the summer’s early weeks. Keen to provide the incoming José Mourinho with a squad ready to challenge on all fronts next season, Real have announced deals for both Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva.

Los Blancos, though, are far from finished there…

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms on Thursday, after departing Liverpool following the expiration of his contract, defender Ibrahima Konaté has joined on a free transfer:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and Ibrahima Konaté have reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030.’

Next in line to be announced as a new member of José Mourinho’s squad? Denzel Dumfries.
