La Liga outfit Alessio Lisci have on Monday announced the departure of first-team manager Alessio Lisci with immediate effect.
Tactician Lisci for his part linked up with Osasuna just 12 months ago, following a successful stint in the dugout at Mirandés.
A challenging campaign ensued at El Sadar, culminating in a nervy fight for survival following a dismal spell of form to close out the term.
When all was said and done, the Rojillos maintained their top-flight status by little more than goal difference.
And as alluded to above, just two days on, Lisci has been made to pay for his shortcomings in Pamplona.
As per a statement across Osasuna’s official website and social media platforms:
‘Club Atlético Osasuna has parted ways with head coach Alessio Lisci. The club thanks the Italian coach for his dedication, sacrifice and commitment during his tenure leading Los Rojillos, as well as his respectful treatment of members, supporters, the board of directors and staff.’
