Official: Osasuna announce manager change

La Liga outfit Osasuna have early this week announced a major change on the club’s bench. This comes amid confirmation that head coach Luis Miguel Ramis has been replaced with immediate effect.

Osasuna, as a collective, are fresh off a challenging opening to the new campaign, culminating in just eight points secured from eight fixtures to date.

Most recently, the Rojillos were put to the sword in concerning fashion in their post-international break return to action, giving up five goals at high-flying Real Betis.

Understandably disappointed by what they have witnessed over recent weeks, the brass at El Sadar, on Monday, therefore made the call to shake things up.

As per a statement across Osasuna’s website and social media platforms:

‘Club Atlético Osasuna have decided that Luis Miguel Ramis will not continue as first-team coach. The decision was made this morning at a board meeting, where the sporting director’s opinion was endorsed. His coaching staff members José Manuel Gil, Iván Madroño, Miguel Ángel Fernández, and José Fajardo will also be leaving the club.’

Confirmation of Ramis’ replacement has since swiftly followed, too, in the form of none other than Rojillos legend Jagoba Arrasate:

‘Club Atlético Osasuna have reached an agreement with Jagoba Arrasate to become their manager until June 30, 2029. The manager with the second-most matches managed in the club’s history returns to the Rojillos, signing a contract for the remainder of this season and two more.’
